NMB has now made improvements to its money transfer service to ensure inclusion and access of banking services at for the unbanked community in the country.

NMB PesaFasta allows our customers to send money to anyone who has a mobile number in the country. The sender has to be an NMB account holder registered to NMB mobile or NMB App.

The recipient of the money has to withdraw it at an NMB ATM, using a code received in an SMS upon completion of the transaction by the sender.

A. Sending Money to PesaFasta

(i) via NMB mobile

Follow this process to complete money transfer through NMB PesaFasta:

  1. Dial *150*66# to start NMB Mobile service
  2. Enter your secret PIN then ok to accept
  3. Select (2)for Money Transfer from NMB mobile menu
  4. Select (2) for NMB PesaFasta
  5. Enter mobile number of recipient.
  6. Enter amount of money to be sent (Multiple of 10,000 not exceeding 400,000)
  7. Press 0 to confirm details of the transfer
  8. You will Receive SMS confirmation Message

(ii) via NMB App

  1. Go to NMB App
  2. Ender username and password
  3. Select Money Transfer from NMB mobile menu
  4. Select NMB PesaFasta
  5. Enter mobile number of recipient.
  6. Enter amount of money to be sent (Multiple of 10,000 not exceeding 400,000)
  7. Confirm details of the transfer
  8. You will Receive SMS confirmation Message

Note:

  • NMB App is currently available to customers with android smartphones and can be downloaded via Google Play Store
  • To user NMB App, customer has to register for this service, to register customer has to dial *150*66#, then select 4 (Other Services) then Select 4 (Register for NMB App), customer will see options to choose username and password.

B. PesaFasta Withdrawal

The receiver of NMB PesaFasta will have to approach the nearest NMB ATM with the cash code from the received SMS.

  1. Press the top right button to get to PesaFasta menu
  2. Choose language i.e. Swahili or English
  3. Enter cash code, then confirm
  4. Enter amount (the exact amount received), then confirm
  5. Cash will be dispensed by the ATM

To access account information you will be required to enter Personal Identification Number (PIN). To protect your account while using NMB mobile always keep your PIN safe. Do not show or share your PIN with anyone.
